The Best Time of Year for a Krabi Beach Wedding

28 August 2026 By The Moment of Love 2 min read
Krabi has two distinct seasons, and each one gives your wedding a completely different character. Here is how to choose the months that match the day you are picturing.

Choosing your date is the first real decision of the whole process, because almost everything else follows from it: which beaches are calm, how the light falls in your photographs, what your guests will pay for flights, and how relaxed the day feels.

The dry season: November to April

This is the season most couples picture when they imagine a Thai beach wedding. Skies are clear, the sea is calm and glassy, and sunsets are long and golden. December through February brings the most reliable weather of the entire year.

The trade-off is that everyone else knows this too. Venues book out early, accommodation is at peak rates, and the popular beaches are busy well into the evening.

  • Book your venue 10 to 12 months ahead for December to February
  • Expect peak-season pricing on villas and resorts
  • Sunset ceremonies are at their most dependable

The green season: May to October

Do not dismiss these months. Rain in Krabi usually arrives as short, heavy afternoon showers rather than all-day drizzle, and it often clears within an hour. Between the showers the landscape is at its most beautiful: the limestone cliffs turn deep green and the light after rain is extraordinary for photography.

  • Venue and accommodation costs drop noticeably
  • Beaches are quiet, which means genuinely private ceremonies
  • Build a covered backup option into your plan and you lose nothing

The shoulder months

Late October, early November and early May sit between the two seasons. You get much of the dry-season calm at closer to green-season prices, and the beaches have not yet filled up. For couples who want the balance, these weeks are often the smartest choice on the calendar.

A note on tides

Whichever month you choose, the tide matters more than most couples expect. A low tide can leave a wide, firm expanse of sand that is perfect for a ceremony and group photographs. A high tide can shrink your usable beach to a narrow strip. We check the tide tables for every date we quote, and we will tell you if your preferred time needs shifting by an hour.
